In August 1872 William White, principle doorman at the House of Commons visited Keswick and happened to meet with Henry Irwin Jenkinson. Mr White, who published a regular article under the pseudonym of 'an old man' in The Graphic' wrote of this meeting. Here is the full article that appeared in The Graphic on Saturday 31 August 1872 which includes a description of Henry, his mountaineering feats and how he came to be a writer of guide books.
